The oviposition rate in captive Sympterygia bonapartii was reported. In a year period one female laid a total of 152 egg cases at a rate of 0.4 egg cases per day and a second one laid a total of 200 egg cases at a rate of 0.5 egg cases per day.Fil: Jañez, Julieta A.. New accommodation models in city tourism: The case of Airbnb in Málaga

    Get PDF
Tourism is one of the fields where collaborative consumption has arrived with more intensity. Although the emergence of Airbnb in the city tourism market has helped increase the number of tourists in most of the cases, it also poses some problems, like the gentrification in central and historic areas, the rising of tourist pressure, or some regulation and legal issues. The main findings of this research reveal that Airbnb supply in the city of Málaga shows a very high rate of growth. The spatial pattern of the Airbnb supply is highly concentrated in the city centre. A similar pattern is exhibited by the hotel supply, with only slight differences. Measures of tourist pressure like the number of Airbnbn accommodations per inhabitant or the density of accommodations by ha are found to be similar to that in Barcelona.Universidad de Málaga. The use of virtual environments as an extended classroom – A case study with adult learners in tertiary education

    Get PDF
This study was conducted in immersive 3D virtual environment Second Life®, with the support of web 2.0 tools as a complement to physical classroom - extended classroom. It was assumed that socialization is a key factor for collaborative learning and knowledge construction. The study aims to identify the variables that may influence knowledge sharing in learning contexts using virtual environments; with the aim of contributing to the improvement of learning situations using the online tools. This research is exploratory in nature and falls within the field of phenomenological studies. The study was implemented in a tertiary education institution involving regular and adult learners. We conclude that in virtual environments learners tend to feel more confident, open, participatory, creative, understanding and seem to participate in training sessions because they are indeed interested in learning. On the other hand, the possibility of providing online tutorial session allows reaching a larger number of learners. These online sessions can be established in a time and place (virtual) free of constraints and can be tailored, allowing a more effective participation from learners.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Sharp weighted estimates for approximating dyadic operators

    Get PDF
We give a new proof of the sharp weighted L2L^2 inequality ||T||_{L^2(w)} \leq c [w]_{A_2} where TT is the Hilbert transform, a Riesz transform, the Beurling-Ahlfors operator or any operator that can be approximated by Haar shift operators. Our proof avoids the Bellman function technique and two weight norm inequalities. We use instead a recent result due to A. Lerner to estimate the oscillation of dyadic operators.Comment: To appear in the Electronic Research Announcements in Mathematical Science
